About Yanke Designs

Frank Yanke started his career in jewelry soon after high school, encouraged by his father to seek after something that he loved. After little success with the cold calls he placed with local jewelers, he finally was offered a job when he talked to Herb Ring, who was a well-known jeweler in Birmingham. From there, Ring encouraged him to become a professional goldsmith, and to talk to Al Borgiorno, who still has a store in Troy. It was in that store that Frank met his wife, Kim, who was an apprentice under Borgiorno.

Frank and Kim have been making jewelry since 1975, but finally settled down in Franklin Village in 1989, opening Yanke Designs. To this day, the couple has been very passionate about their jobs as jewelers, and takes great pride and care in all of their work. To them, making jewelry is not as much about earning a living, but upholding fine craftsmanship, furthering art, and establishing relationships with their customers.

Yanke Designs is special because their entire inventory is hand made in the store. They excel at creating custom jewelry pieces that match their customer’s personalities.
